Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

Usage Information

We collect aggregate usage data including:

• Number of minutes transcribed per month

Audio and Transcription Data

Important: We do NOT store your audio recordings or transcribed text. Audio is processed in memory and immediately discarded. Transcribed text is sent directly to your application and never stored on our servers.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card number. We receive only:

• Last 4 digits of your card
• Card brand and expiration
• Billing address

We use the information we collect to:

Chrome Extension Data Practices

The ParrotPadMD Chrome extension requires certain permissions to function. Here's exactly what we access and why:

Data We Access

• Microphone Audio: Captured only when you click the dictation button. Audio is streamed directly to Google Cloud Speech-to-Text for transcription and is never stored.
• Active Tab: We detect the focused text field to insert your dictated text. We do not read or collect any page content.
• Clipboard: Used only as a fallback to insert text into complex editors (like Google Docs) that don't support direct text insertion. We only write your transcribed text; we never read or collect clipboard contents.

Data We Store Locally

• Your authentication token (to keep you signed in)
• User preferences and settings
• Custom text macros you create

Data We Do NOT Collect

• Browsing history or web activity
• Page content or text you type
• Personal files or documents
• Audio recordings (processed in real-time, never stored)
• Transcribed text (sent directly to your cursor, never stored)

Third-Party Services

The extension communicates only with:

• Google Cloud Speech-to-Text: For audio transcription (covered under Google's BAA)
• Firebase: For authentication and usage tracking (covered under Google's BAA)
• Stripe: For subscription management (PCI-DSS compliant)

HIPAA Compliance

ParrotPadMD is designed for HIPAA compliance. We:

• Offer a Business Associate Agreement (BAA) to all users
• Never store Protected Health Information (PHI)
• Never use PHI for AI model training
• Process all audio through HIPAA-compliant infrastructure
• Maintain encryption for all data in transit

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Service Providers: Google Cloud (speech processing), Stripe (payments)
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect rights
• Business Transfers: In connection with any merger or acquisition
