Dictation in Practice Fusion
If you open Practice Fusion in Chrome, ParrotPadMD lets you dictate straight into its note fields. It is a Chrome extension that types at the cursor in any web EHR, so there is no integration to set up and no IT ticket to file. Click into a field, press Alt/Opt+A and talk.

How to dictate in Practice Fusion
- Add ParrotPadMD to Chrome from the Chrome Web Store and create a free account. It installs in one click with no admin privileges.
- Sign in to Practice Fusion in Chrome and open the note you are working on.
- Click into the field you want to fill, press Alt/Opt+A, talk, and press Alt/Opt+A again. The text appears at the cursor.
- Use voice commands for punctuation and new paragraphs, or say a macro trigger to drop in a paragraph you use every day.
To write the whole note from the visit instead, record the visit with the patient's consent, pick a template, and insert the finished note into the chart with its headings intact.
What is covered
The browser version of Practice Fusion is covered, because ParrotPadMD works inside the page you have open in Chrome. A desktop app is not covered, since a Chrome extension cannot type into programs outside the browser. If you reach your EHR through a desktop app, the Scratchpad web app lets you dictate in any browser and paste the text across.
For any dictation built into Practice Fusion itself, check with your vendor. ParrotPadMD needs nothing from the EHR side to work.
What you get
- A medical speech model that knows medications, diagnoses and procedures. Pick your specialty during setup for extra vocabulary. Medical Mode covers English, Spanish, French and German, and Portuguese uses a general model.
- Dictation in English, Spanish (US, Mexico and Spain), Portuguese, French and German, with voice commands for punctuation and formatting in each.
- Macros. Say a trigger such as "normal cardiac exam" and the full paragraph goes in.
- An AI visit scribe. Record the visit with the patient's consent and get a note in your template. Every section cites the transcript lines it came from, so you can check it before you sign.
- A Business Associate Agreement for you. Dictation audio is processed in memory and never stored. Visit recordings are deleted as soon as the transcript exists.
- Mac, Windows and Chromebook, anywhere Chrome runs.
Pricing
Free gives you 15 minutes of dictation a month and two recorded visits, with no credit card. Professional is $20 a month for 300 minutes of dictation and visits on one clock. Unlimited is $49 a month for dictation and visits under a fair use limit of 2,500 audio minutes a month (about 40 hours). A Credit Pack is $5 for 60 minutes that never expire.
