Here's how to dictate with ParrotPadMD in Chrome.

Open the page where you write your notes, then open the ParrotPadMD extension. Check your microphone and dictation language before you begin.

Choose Dictation. When no field is active, you'll be asked where your words should go. If a field is already selected, dictation can start directly. Click the text field you want to use. Recording starts when you choose that field.

If you prefer to collect your words first, choose Dictate to notepad. The notepad keeps text in this tab. It is not saved to your account, so copy or insert anything you want to keep.

Speak naturally. For example: The patient reports itchy eyes after gardening. Use the Stop control when you're finished, and give the final words a moment to arrive.

Read the result and correct anything that needs attention before adding it to the chart. Dictation can make mistakes, especially with names, numbers, and medical terms.

If you chose the notepad, place your cursor in the destination field, then use Insert. You can also copy the text yourself.

Prefer a dedicated writing space? Open the web workspace and choose Dictation. Start dictation, stop when you're finished, review your note, and use Copy or Share.

Here's how to turn a recorded visit into a draft with ParrotPadMD AI Scribe.

In the web workspace, choose AI Scribe. The Chrome extension also has an AI Scribe button, so you can begin from the page where you're working.

Choose Start recording a visit. Obtain the patient's consent before recording, then confirm consent and start. For practice, use a fictional conversation.

Keep the recording screen available. On a phone, locking the screen or switching apps can pause the microphone. Use the Stop control when the conversation is finished, then wait for the transcript to become ready.

Open the visit and review the transcript. Choose Generate draft, then select the template that fits your note. If you've set a preferred template, you can generate with that template directly. Optional chart context can provide additional background.

The generated note is a draft for you to review. Click a section under Check the source to see the transcript it cites. Read the source yourself. A source indicator does not replace your clinical judgment.

To adjust one section, select it in Refine a section. You can expand, condense, use bullets, or give a custom instruction. Check the result, and edit the full note wherever needed.

Edits save automatically. Wait for Saved before leaving. If a save fails, keep the note open and retry. Copy your work if you cannot restore the connection.

The numbered steps let you return to the transcript or template choice without losing the current draft. Generating a replacement is a separate action, so moving between steps does not generate another note.

When you're satisfied, copy the reviewed note into your chart. In the extension, you can also insert it into a selected field. Your visit and saved notes remain available in Visits and notes for later review.
